Because It's a Sues-Day, I'm Starting the Day Out with @bookdealerSusan to Discuss Projects, Collaboration, & the "Joys" of Higher Education

I learned from my collaborators, Kelly Chandler-Olcott and Liz Lewis, that the best way to get work done is to chisel out a day of the week and get going. It's a space for hashing out writing projects, pushing it towards publication, and maintaining a flow to get it out the door. Susan and I have been critical friends for several years now, and it just occurred to us that we should be writing about what we're doing...especially adapting to online spaces with diversity and inclusivity on our minds. We're both NWP site directors, but our regions are varied. Even so, our mission is married, so we are keeping ourselves honest to our profession every Sue's day this semester.

She hates when I post pictures of her, but I find it motivating, so I'm using it. It's her runway look - not sure about the color choice, though.

So, what's a Suesday? It's a day before humpday where the two of us have an hour in our schedule to collaborate, think, write, move forward, and aim higher. It's our accountability to one another to keep honest with what we set out to do.

Yes, I have meetings up the ying yang today, and teach tonight, but I'm starting my day out right with the Susie Q. Actually, I got up early so I can get a long walk in, too, before it's non-stop chaos.

I need to get off this blogger routine so I can prepare for the work ahead. I'd rather pay you Suesday for a hamburger today.

We got this.
