First Time Since the Pandemic That All the Frog Gifts Could Meet the Grand Poo-Fra in the Ol' Office

I was sent face masks. I also received coffee mugs my little sister. And my older sister even got me a lunch bag. That was all inspired by my great $11 find on clearance, the Frog painting (which when I bought it, came with a tag, "one of a kind." Dudes, this frog is everywhere, and I know this because people keep sending more of him to me).

Ah, but with back to back meetings yesterday, then an evening class, I knew I was going to spend some time in the office, so packed a lunch and brought my coffee mug (the mask was already there). I introduced them all and then said, "I know. None of this feels the same."

Truth is teaching is wonderful, as is working with K-12 schools with the students, administrators, and the teachers. I love my colleagues across the nation who do magnificent work, and I have some stellar folks I adore who work with me on campus.

It's just when top-down shenanigans gets dumped on you like a goat turd in a yoga studio, you want to scream, "Are you kidding me?" I will go to my grave wondering why administration exists as it does. I guess it's for the money. That's what they care about...how do I look to others. Such leadership definitely is not for the good of students, educators, and the community. It's to build careers and it's foolish.

Ah, but I have my frogs. I'll focus on them and I'll always live my life to do better for others on the ground, without the pomp and circumstance, and definitely for less money.. I will fight for what I believe in, hang my head low, and stay out of those that like to bulldoze, manipulate, and misdirect. It's just so frustrating...and the more I learn, the more I hate it all.

Ribbit Ribbit. I'm so thankful I have had the fortunes of doing what I do with amazing humans everywhere. It helps me to see the foolishness of the not-so-amazing when it comes. I will always look on with awe. The Gods Must Be Crazy.
