Sometime in the morning I texted Kris to say, "I'm bringing you dinner. It's my thanks to Dave for walking Karal while I've been lame." Her response, "We won't argue against that idea. We never have energy to cook on Fridays.
So I paced my day in order to make it happen. They only have 3 of their 4 mouths now to feed (as Justin is in Memphis) and Dave taught all week. Chinese food it was.
And blankets. Last night was chilly.
It didn't stop Karal from being a pain in the ass, though. She is too curious and doesn't want to miss a thing; no such idea as personal space or isolation if she's around. She wants your shoelaces, ankles, and/or face, sometimes all at once. I took this photo at a point when Ish, now in grade 3, came out because he discovered he's a Leo and was doing research on his characteristics. He wanted us to watch a 7-minute video with him. Karal wanted in, too, but when the video was capturing the attention of everyone, she was like, "That machine in his lap is stupid. What about me?"
Ah, Labor Day weekend is always a blessing for me to, well....labor. It's a catch-up and get on top-of the work period of time. It's always been that way. As much as I read suggestions of tying a bow on all items before the chaos begins so you can enjoy one last weekend, it didn't happen. In fact, Friday dropped work-nuggets and emergencies almost every hour of the day. Today is solution time...which is an ugh...but the sun is out once more, so how can I complain?
